Two “Drones” Intruded into the Universiade Airspace Without Authorization; Police Deployed Interception Guns to “Take Them Down”
In addition to ground security, aerial surveillance was also essential during the Universiade. On the evening of the opening ceremony on the 19th, the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology and the Taipei City Police Department used the SkyNet radar system and drone interception guns to successfully prevent two illegal drones from entering the restricted airspace. To prevent athletes from being disturbed, police deployed drone interception teams not only during the opening and closing ceremonies, but also at every competition, positioning them at elevated locations to conduct interference operations. Authorities also urged the public not to challenge the law.
